Or you can come to one of our trainings and kick our asses you want to join ;). When can i join? At any time during the season. I'm a guy / I'm a girl, is there a guys/girls team? Well we have a guys and a girls team so choose your the team of your sex please. 8) Do i have to do the intro? No, you don't have to. If you want to start in the sport though, it's recommended to do so. We'll learn you everything you need to start! What if i miss the open trainings? That's no problem, try to make it to the intro or join us later on when you can. Do i have to be a student? No, though you'll have to pay more contribution because students get a discount at Olympos. Are there any requirements to join the team? Uhm, not much. It's not ballet though, but you don't need to be Rambo either to play. Do i have to be experienced in the sport? No, we'll learn you the ropes from scratch so don't worry about that. Besides, we all had to learn from scratch ;). If you're condition isn't good, don't worry about that one either. We all have bad conditions at the start of the season... How demanding are you on my part? We'll expect you to train on monday and wednesday nights, and we expect you to come to games. If you can't make it to a game or training, that's a pity but give a good reason and we'll understand and accept. We're dedicated but not overdedicated ;). The Devils / the club / clublife I'm a busy guy / girl, can i mix this with my social life? I'm sure you can. I can do it too. How is social life in the Devils? After trainings we go for a quick drink in the Olympos bar (at the trainingfields). We also have a great social committee which arranges a few cool events throughout the season. If teammates have a party its not uncommon that the team gets an invite too. Plus there are a few events and tournaments throughout the season in Holland and outside of the country which we attend. Beachlacrosse and the lowlandstournament are one of them. Overall, we have a dedicated and social team. Being a Devil is being a part of a team and being a team is being part of a Devil. The sport Can you give me an example of lacrosse or a video so i can watch it? Sure! I'm even happy to give you a good example, because a lot of "bodychecks" lacrosse videos give a false impression of the sport, bodychecking happens but it's not that brutal as it seems. For mens lacrosse: click here (good impression on the flow of play) or here (sweet promo vid) or here (highlights! cool intro too) ! For women lacrosse: click here (good impression) or here (very cool vid)! Is it a dangerous sport? No, the rules of the game are designed to keep the game safe. Referees will always have an eye for safety, safety for anyone will overrule any rule. For men it is a full contact sport, meaning bodychecks are allowed. But, there are very strict rules on bodychecks to keep the sport safe. Plus men wear a lot of equipement to protect themselfs for injury (helmets, bodyguards etc). For women it is not a full contact sport. Stick on stick contact is allowed but no bodycontact. Hence women wear a lot less equipment. Other About the language used / Over de gesproken taal Since we're mostly an international team the site is in English. The majority of the team is Dutch though so don't worry about your English or Dutch, we all speak both languages (more or less). Omdat we voornamelijk een internationaal team zijn is de site geschreven in het Engels. Maar de meerderheid van het team is Nederlands, dus maak je geen zorgen over je Engels of je Nederlands, want we spreken allemaal beide talen (min of meer).
